Dunedin
Dunedin is home to several beaches including Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island State Park, which is consistently rated among the best beaches in the world. The downtown district is notable for it's absence of large commercial signage and retail chain stores. Lending it to a small village feel. Since 1977 Dunedin has been the spring training home of the Toronto Blue Jays. Sister city of Stirling, Scotland Dunedin has maintained and embraced it's Scottish roots. Dunedin High School has an award winning bagpipe band.
Clearwater and Clearwater Beach
Settled by colonists in the mid-1830s, it was not until the 1890s that Clearwater gained a reputation as a resort community. Today, fun 'n sun lovers still come from around the world, and although Clearwater is a great get-away location, it's an even better place to live. The city provides residents with programs and resources they need and the amenities they desire. Clearwater is the home of Clearwater Marine Aquarium, where bottlenose dolphins Winter and Hope live. Major League Baseball's Philadelphia Phillies call Clearwater it's spring training home.
Tarpon Springs
Tarpon Springs is the northernmost city in Pinellas County. Greek eateries line waterfront Dodecanese Boulevard, a legacy of the Greek sponge divers who settled here in the early 1900s. Along the water, the Historic Sponge Docks are a reminder of the once booming industry. Every year on January 6th Tarpon Springs has their Epiphany celebration, which is the largest in the western hemisphere. The lucky boy that retrieves the cross is said to be blessed for the following year.
